Flights
The Portuguese airline TAP flies daily from Lisbon to Salvador da Bahia. Charter airline Condor has two weekly flights to Salvador, the tickets are often cheaper, especially the last minutes. With TAM also get you in Salvador, but only through Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, which significantly extends the travel time. The tickets are not cheaper.
The daily TAP flight, connection from most European airports via Lisbon, is probably the most interesting. From Lisbon, it is still 8 hours flying to Salvador da Bahia. You may carry maximum 30 kg of luggage per person, spread over two suitcases. Your luggage travels automatically and by check in you immediately get the boarding passes for both flights. When you are planning a trip around Christmas, New Year or Carnival, it is recommended to book long in advance.
Condor flies from most European airports via Frankfurt. From there you fly approximately 10h30 Salvador da Bahia. You may carry max 20 kg per person and your luggage travels automatically. Condor flies on Wednesday and Sunday and has very attractive rates for last minute flights (1 to 3 weeks before departure date book).
TIP: By check in to Salvador try to get a seat in the front, so you can pass faster through immigration control.
